Frequently asked questions

How does Break the Week work?

Every school day is one big block on the Weekend Road. Tap today’s glowing block four times with the Star Hammer to crack and smash it. Each block pays out gems. When every school block of the week is broken, the weekend treasure chest opens and the celebration starts. A new row of blocks drops from the sky at the start of the next school week.

How do I open the Parent Zone?

On the Weekend Road, tap the small grey gear button in the top corner and answer the “Grown-ups only” multiplication question. Everything that changes the schedule or the progress is in the Parent Zone.

How do I use the Week Planner?

Parent Zone → Week planner. Tap a school day and pick up to three picture stickers (for example Swimming and Library). They appear on that day’s block, Zaki reads them out in the morning, and tapping a coming day tells your child what’s on and how many sleeps are left. Day stickers repeat every week like a timetable. This weekend holds the family’s weekend plans; they show on the weekend chest and are just for the current week.

Can my child use the app in Arabic?

Yes. Break the Week is fully bilingual. It follows the iPad’s language, or you can choose it for this app only in iPad Settings → Break the Week → Language. In Arabic the layout runs right to left and Zaki speaks Arabic.

How do I change school days and weekend days?

Parent Zone → School week. Tap a day to switch it between School day (it gets a block) and Weekend. The default is Monday to Thursday for school and Friday to Sunday for the weekend. Keep at least one school day and one weekend day.

Why can’t my child break today’s block?
  • Weekend days never have blocks, so there’s nothing to break on a weekend.
  • If Only after school is turned on (Parent Zone → Break time), today’s block unlocks at the time you choose.
  • Blocks for the coming days unlock on their own day.
  • If you installed the app in the middle of a week, the days before you made the hero don’t get blocks. The full countdown starts with the next school week.
We forgot to break a block. Is it lost?

No. Missed blocks stay breakable until the week ends, and nothing is ever broken automatically. The weekend chest opens as soon as the last block is broken, even on a Saturday.

How do holidays work?

Parent Zone → Holidays. A holiday turns that school day’s block into a golden bonus block. It’s worth extra gems and can be broken any time that day.

A block was broken by mistake. Can I undo it?

Yes. Parent Zone → Progress → Undo last break brings the block back. Reset this week brings back all of this week’s blocks. Gems, trophies and badges are kept.

How do we start over?

Parent Zone → Progress → Reset all progress erases gems, trophies, badges, purchases and history, and keeps the hero and settings. Deleting the app from the iPad removes everything.

Is there anything to buy?

No. The shop only uses gems that your child earns in the game. There are no in-app purchases, no ads and no accounts.

There’s no sound, or Zaki’s voice sounds robotic
  • Check the iPad volume and silent mode, then Parent Zone → Sound and voice (sound effects, music, Zaki’s voice and voice speed).
  • For a more natural voice, go to iPad Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices and download an Enhanced or Premium voice for your language (English or Arabic).
Does progress sync between devices?

No. Break the Week works completely offline and keeps everything on the iPad. Progress is part of your normal iPad backups, but it’s never sent to us.

Which devices are supported?

Any iPad with iPadOS 17 or later, in portrait or landscape.
